Mercè 2018 – Re(IN)volve
Following the success of the Swedish event earlier in the year, the companies embarked on another short co-creation led this time by Thomas Noone, and over three days in Fabra i Coats, one of Barcelona’s “fabricas de creació” the dancers created a new work , a celebration of their dancing prowess, their differences and their common passion and ability. The work was presented to a great reception on three successive evenings in the the Cuidadela Park as part of the Barcelona MAC Mercè festival and seen by hundreds of spectators.
The companies also performed their own works at different points throughout the park and also each visiting company gave a workshop in the morning to a hugely diverse public , sharing knowledge, interest and passion for dance.
For more information about what went on in the park you can see a video of the companies performing their own works here, a gallery of images from some of the performances here and a video of the co-creation “Re(IN)volve” featuring all 16 dancers here.
